Everyone needs to relieve stress, unwind, decompress, take your mind off of something only if temporarily; at the end of a long day or just when you feel like you need it, video games have always done that for me.  I also suffer from panic disorder and have as far as I can remember, and video game have helped me with not only everyday stresses, but with that as well, as far as I can remember – dating all the way back to the Atari 2600 and up to all current generation systems.

Now that I think about it more, although I’ve always been drawn to games and being a gamer well, because it/they were/are fun, that dealing with stress and having a need for a temporary escape or somewhere to let my mind wander for a little bit may have turned me into a gamer!  It’s the chicken or egg conundrum.  Other issues aside everybody has daily stressors, small things, big things, professional things, personal things, and I think video games are the perfect way to unwind! You can do it with a friend, with multiple friends, with people all over the world now, or by yourself, whatever way you feel comfortable with and suits you most.

Ok, stress and coping using video games… I think you all know that I’m a fan of Ubisoft and as I’m sure you can infer from the title I’m going to prescribe you some Far Cry 3 to help you escape your daily stresses!  Guaranteed to pull your mind away from your troubles with It’s tropical setting and extremely polished graphics you would be hard pressed to find something better to “take you away”.  AND if you go here: You will get $25 off because It’s Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day today!

Assassin’s Creed III

I want Assassin’s Creed III!

I have two words to accurately describe my excitement to receive Assassin’s Creed III: Anvil Next. As a member of XBox Live for now over ten years, I have certainly played, beta-tested, and reviewed my fair of games and gaming equipment. However, the reviews and ratings for ACIII speak for themselves. I am incredibly anxious to experience for myself the polished quality of this game as I hear it is unparalleled to any of the other AC games (or any other game for that matter)…AND should literally blow the others out of the water due to Ubisoft’s extensive work over the last three years on the game’s visuals and graphics. The anvil engine was engineered from the ground up to ensure that the bar was raised in terms of gaming quality–physics, lighting, animation, detailed characters, and navigation; not a single bit of animation from earlier AC games was used. I am most interested in the game info that revealed the game can render over two thousand individual NPC’s at once. This feature would be a huge technical leap forward and hopefully, this means much less pop-in than we’ve seen before; faster movement on horseback and perhaps more environmental detail and realism. In addition, there are creatures of the wilderness, terrain, and the elements through all four seasons to battle–not just the bloody Redcoats. I hope all the animal animations look good (wildlife). I also can’t wait to see some in-city game play and naval warfare–the atmosphere from the pictures looks amazing. The reviews on the story line and plot are the bread and butter of the brand – sure to be satisfying as always. It would be no exaggeration to say AC3 should be one of the most beautiful games I’ve played. Now, I just need to get my paws on the game so I can dodge a musket and watch the gunpowder and blood settle in the snow…

Did I mention that It’s the Gold Box Deal of the Day?
